Let me introduce myself

Valentina Alia

Marketing Translator & Copywriter

I’m a marketing translator and copywriter working with companies like AllbirdsMonaco Tribune and Tiimo, along with small boutique agencies that pay good rates and treat translators like professionals and human beings. I started working as a freelance translator in 2015, after completing my studies and an internship as a project manager in London. I walked in your shoes and I know how hard it is to enter this industry and have no idea how to start a successful career. I know how frustrating it can be to send out tons of CVs and barely get answers, to wonder if you accepted a good rate or if you are undercharging. After 8 years of living off translation, I want to share what I learnt with you to make your career path a bit less steep.

This IS for you if:

✔️ You want to live off translation but don’t know how.

✔️ You feel lost in starting your career.

✔️ You need help to enter the industry on the right foot.

✔️ You want to charge with confidence.

✔️ You send tons of CVs but got very few answers.

✔️ You want to build an online presence.

✔️ You want to write the perfect CV and Cover letter.

This is NOT for you if:

❌ You have your pool of clients to work with.

❌ You’re confident in setting your rates.

❌ You are already satisfied with your career.

❌ You have a strong online presence.

❌ You have the perfect CV and Cover Letter.

Find the answers to all your questions

I can't make it at the scheduled time, what can I do?

Don’t worry. If you are busy and can’t attend the live event you can have access to the recordings for two weeks.

I'm still at university, can I attend the course?

Of course you can. This is perfect to learn everything you need to know to start on the right foot.

I'm considering a career change, is this for me?

Absolutely! This is the perfect opportunity to learn what steps you need to take and if this job is for you.

I already have some experience but I'm stuck and I want to give up, could this help?

Yes! It can help you to change your mindset and find new ways to make your business grow.

Do you guarantee I'll get clients?

Unfortunately, I can’t. Finding clients can be hard, especially when you have no, or little, experience yet. But together we’ll see some strategies to increase your chances of gaining clients.

Will this help me on setting my rates?

Yes! Setting your rates can be a nightmare at the beginning. What if it’s too high or too low? Will the client laugh at my quote? What is an acceptable rate? I will give you my most honest answers to these and other questions, and show you how to calculate your ideal rate.

I'm a bit introverted and I'm not sure how to market myself, can this help?

Absolutely! Building an online presence is essential for a freelancer whose career is completely based online! Together we’ll learn how to create your personal brand, how to use LinkedIn effectively, and how networking can be vital in building your business.
